Fond du Lac will host the 49th Annual National Federation of the Blind of Wisconsin (NFBW) state convention April 5-7 at the Raddison Hotel and Conference Center, located at 625 West Rolling Meadows Drive in Fond du Lac, WI.

The theme is “Springing Into Action: Advocating for an Accessible Future!” Room reservations can be made now and Rates start at  $98 per night.  Convention preregistration costs $20 and meals can be purchased for additional costs.

At the convention blind people will discuss current issues, share their collective knowledge, and plan necessary legislative and outreach campaigns.  It is open to the public and is for anyone wanting to obtain more information about vision loss and blindness.  Events at the convention will include speakers, technology demonstrations, and workshops specifically for students, parents and the general public—blind and sighted. Our special guest will be Everette Bacon, current secretary  of the NFB’s Board of Directors. He also serves as the president of the NFB of Utah.

The National Federation of the Blind is the nation's largest and most influential membership organization of blind persons working together to improve the lives and futures of all blind Americans.  Our mission is to serve as the voice of the nation's blind.  There are more than 50,000 members in more than 700 local chapters in every state as well as in Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico.  Our organization  believes in the limitless potential of the blind. We believe in blind people because we are blind people—from our democratically elected leaders to our diverse nationwide membership. We know that with love, hope, and determination, we can transform our dreams into reality.
